We started our trip by making a stop in Las Vegas. Believe me, I wouldn't have done this if it wasn't absolutely necessary as I don't enjoy the porn and inappropriate material you're exposed to in and around Vegas. However, we had to make one quick stop.
You see, two years ago my sister got married and honeymooned in Vegas. She and her hubby took all kinds of fun pictures, but for some reason my parents LOVED this one:
Anyway, the next year when my parents when to St. George for my dad's annual training, they decided to go to Vegas and take the same photo without telling Rebecca their plans. They were giddy at the thought, and even practiced the right faces. They probably found the sunglasses exactly where Becky and Rob left them:
Pretty good, huh? Well, the next month my sister Rachel went down. Since she isn't married, she grabbed some stranger and asked him to fill in. Pretty brave, but it had to be done:
I believe it was the next month that my older sister Natalie went down for an anniversary trip. Needless to say, my mom convinced them they needed to get a pic, although it took us a year to get them to give us a copy since they think they look dumb. I believe that's part of the point. :)
So, going through Vegas on our way to Disneyland, I knew my mom wouldn't forgive me for not stopping to get a picture. I mean, she loved hers so much I made them into playing cards for her to play Nertz with. So we made the stop. Hello! Bad news!!! The pineapple sunglasses were nowhere to be found! Can you believe it?!? It threw me off, so we did't get the tags right and such. I even stood on the wrong side, but I flipped the pic so it's not TOO off. My pineapple sunglasses just aren't cutting it, but I had to try:
In any case, the kids decided they also needed pics with pretty glasses. We couldn't convince Zachary to put on any other glasses than the martini glasses. Oh well ...
